How It All Started
Meet Agata, our founder… When she started working as a German teacher, she quickly realized how much her students struggled with memorizing the articles.
To help her students remember the articles, Agata color-coded them. She used four colors instead of three to emphasize the difference between the singular and plural “die”.
It was her dad, who made the first prototype of the cards, which she used for years to come to introduce new nouns to her students.
Agata incorporated the cards in her daily classes to help the students remember the articles by associating them with their assigned colors.
The cards helped the students understand that an article is an integral part of every German noun and became motivated to actively try to remember them.
Even though the cards were initially only meant for beginners, they turned out to be a great tool for explaining more complicated grammar topics at the later stages of learning.
GERMAGO®-App is the digital representation of the cards used and tested for years and proven a great teaching and learning tool for both teachers and students of the German language.

We would like to spread our methods to make learning German fun, easy and free for everyone who needs it!
